Dr. Bishoy Michael

Board Certified Psychiatrist

Dr. Bishoy Michael provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adults and adolescents (13 years old and older), including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy.

As a solo practitioner, Dr. Michael offers consistent, one-on-one care with an emphasis on thoughtful assessment, collaboration, and long-term stability. All visits are conducted through secure telehealth.

Credentials & Experience

Dr. Michael received his Medical Degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten with Academic Honors. He then completed his General Psychiatry Residency at Larkin Community Hospital in Miami, Florida, where he was Chief Resident of one of the largest psychiatry training programs in the county. Dr. Michael is licensed to practice in Maryland, Florida, New York, and California.

Dr. Bishoy Michael has extensive experience in outpatient, inpatient, and consultation-liaison psychiatry. He currently serves as Medical Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) since 2023 and has worked on the hospital’s inpatient psychiatric unit for the past four years.

With over 9 years of experience, Dr. Michael has treated a wide range of chronic and acute mental illnesses. He expertly has managed symptoms of ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and many more.

He has served on the board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Anne Arundel County (NAMI AAC) for three years and is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Maryland Psychiatric Society.
